At the Shafiq Restaurant we are very conscious of the community around is and aim to play our part in maintaining a happy and vibrant community spirit.

    Recently on the 14th November 2006 the local students at Eskdale Secondary School participated in a workshop commissioned by the Shafiq Restaurant to produce Eastern themed artworks for display in the reception area of the Restaurant. The workshop involved fifteen students from years eight and nine, working in groups, to complete four paintings in one day using acrylic paints laid on canvas (80cm x 100cm). Illustrated below are some of the paintings produced by the children, as it can be seen that the work was of an incredibly high standard. We are very proud of the accomplishments and hard work of the students and hope to be involved in further projects in the near future.

    Here at the Shafiq Restaurant we are very proud of the high standards we maintain with the quality of our food and the service we provide. From time to time we receive recognition from the public for our hard work; we were touched to receive a letter from one of our customers, so much so that we would like to share with you their thoughts:

        I feel compelled to write this letter for whilst we were in Whitby over the weekend, my wife and I ate     in your restaurant on Saturday evening, 22nd July. Our experience deserves recognition and I have to     say that the food courses were simply excellent and the service very good, polite and friendly. From         our many frequent visits to the town, we feel almost certain that you have only recently opened the             restaurant.
