Main Course Dishes   

    Please note all our dishes are cooked fresh to order and are available mild, medium, hot or Apna (cooked in a traditional Pakistani style and definitely for the connoisseur). All our curries are available with chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns, vegetables or any combination that suits your appetite.


    Karahi - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. Typical Pakistani dish                                exclusively prepared and served in a mini metal wok. Prepared using chilli, garlic, ginger,                            onions, tomatoes and a selection of Shafiq spices.



    Masala - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. Voted Britains’ favourite                         dish (chicken tikka masala). A mild dish made up of garlic, ginger, onions and masala                                 sauce.



    Vindaloo - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. The hottest curry in the                            house! For those who are brave enough, this curry in made with ginger, garlic, tomatoes,                            herbs and spices and of course extra chilli.



    Madras - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. A spicy, saucy curry                              with ginger, garlic, tomatoes, herbs and spices, red chilli and fresh lemon juice.



    Korma - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. A very mild, sweet and                            creamy dish cooked with fresh coconut cream.



    Makhani - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. For those who love                                    nuts. This dish is cooked with tomatoes, pistachios, almonds and Shafiq special spices.



    Jalfrezi - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. A distinctive dish                                      prepared with capsicum, onions, tomatoes and garlic in a spicy sauce.



    Dansak - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. A dish prepared with                             garlic. Ginger, tomatoes, lentils, capsicum and pineapple.



    Rogan Josh - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. This dish is highly                                     spiced with herbs, ginger, coriander, green chillies and garnished with fried                                                 capsicum and onions.



    Zaffrani - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. A traditional dish from                              northern India. The jewel of Indian spices, Saffron, is used to flavour the dish.



    Biriyani - Chicken, chicken tikka, lamb, prawns, king prawns or vegetable. All Biriyani dishes are                              cooked with onions, garlic, cardamom, cinnamon, green chillies, yoghurt and saffron.



    Bunna – A thick curry with herbs, fresh tomatoes, green chillies with fresh ginger and garlic.


    Passanda – A mildly spiced creamy curry garnished with almond pieces.


    Dopiaza – Spiced curry, briskly fried with fresh onion rings, green chillies, pepper, cinnamon and bay                       leaves.




Meat and Poultry Specials


    Shafiq’s Mixed Grill - A combination of the best grilled starters, includes: chicken tikka, lamb tikka,                                               lamb chop, samosa, spring roll and onion bahji. This dish is served with a fresh                                           side salad, curry sauce and mirch masala chips.


    Chicken Chow Mein - A Chinese classic served with rice or noodles.


    Chicken Chilli – A dish prepared with green chillies and Chinese spices.


    Lamb Steak - Succulent choice steak marinated to perfection in Shafiq's special spices and cooked                                  over a chargrill to seal in the flavour.


    Spicy Meatball Karahi – Spicy minced lamb formed into meatballs and cooked in a spicy Karahi                                                       sauce.




Vegetable Specials


    Aloo Gobi - Fresh potatoes and cauliflower cooked in onions, tomatoes, ginger and select Shafiq                                  spices.


    Mixed Vegetable Curry – Select fresh mixed vegetables cooked in a spicy curry sauce.


    Matter Paneer – Fresh peas and paneer cheese cooked with onions, tomatoes and ginger.


    Aloo Palak – Fresh potatoes and spinach cooked with onions, tomatoes, ginger and select Shafiq                                    spices.


    Mixed Vegetable Platter - A selection of the best vegetable starters, includes: vegetable samosa,                                                        onion bahji, aloo tikka, spring rolls and vegetable pakora.




Seafood Specials


    Seafood platter - A selection of the best seafood starters, including: Tuna steak, Salmon pakora,                                            masala fish, king prawns and balti mussels.


    Monkfish Sheshlik – Fresh fillets of monkfish marinated in a sheshlik sauce, dipped in a spicy batter                                           and deep-fried to perfection. The dish is serves with a fresh side salad and                                               mirch masala chips.


    Halibut Tikka – Fresh fillets of Halibut in a tikka flavoured marinade and cooked over a chargrill. The                                    dish is served with a fresh side salad and mirch masala chips.


    Seafood Biriyani – Biriyani cooked with tandoori tuna, New Zealand muscles, prawns and tiger king                                      prawns.


    Balti King Prawns - Tiger King Prawns cooked with fresh onions, garlic, green chillies, and tomatoes                                        mixed with a spicy Balti flavoured sauce.


    Tuna Karahi – Fresh tuna steaks in a tandoori flavoured marinade diced and cooked in a spicy Karahi                              curry sauce.



Apna Specials


    These curries are prepared to the same specification as to what the staff at the Shafiq restaurant eats at the end of the night. They are extra spicy, rich in taste and draw extra flavour from the bone of the meat.


    Chicken on the Bone Curry – Succulent chicken pieces left on the bone and cooked in our very                                                              own Apna sauce.


    Lamb on the Bone Curry - Succulent lamb pieces left on the bone and cooked in our very own                                                             Apna sauce.


    Lamb Chops on the Bone Masala - Pieces of marinated lamb chops lightly chargrilled and cooked in                                                                    our very own Apna sauce.




Side Dishes


    Bombay Aloo – Fresh spicy potatoes cooked with onions, fused with garlic and ginger, in a dry                                         sauce


    Bhindi – Fresh okra gently sautéed with onions and selected Shafiq spices.


    Tarka Daal - Lentils cooked with ginger, garlic, coriander and select Shafiq spices.


    Mirch Masala Chips – Freshly cut potatoes covered in chopped red chillies and select Shafiq spices                                            mixed in flour batter and deep fried.




Plain Dishes


    Butter Chicken – Succulent pieces of chicken cooked in a rich and smooth buttery sauce.
